Inquiry Launch

On 31 October 2024, a group of cross-party Parliamentarians launched the inquiry into the conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in the DRC. The launch took place in the UK Parliament, and was co-organised by the British Group Inter-Parliamentary Union (BGIPU), the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) and the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on International Law, Justice and Accountability.

Dr Denis Mukwege, world-renowned gynaecologist, human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate from east Congo, testified before the Inquiry, shining a light on the dire situation of women in the DRC and the extent of CRSV as perpetrated to this day.
